PRACTICE AREAS

Banking and Finance Law

The Banking Act of 1994 regulates the domestic sector. EU Directives relative to the field are the main reference for the regulatory and supervisory systems and procedures contained within the law. All banking and finance services offered domestically are regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority, which Authority is also responsible for issuing the relevant documentation in order that a bank may operate in Malta.

Vincent Micallef and Associates advises on the entire range of banking issues both with regards to the domestic market as well as with respect to the international dimension of the area. The firm currently retains a local bank operating world-wide.
